You are required to submit a total of 4 short reflective journals (200 to 300 words for English and 100 to 300 characters for Chinese) using your target language in English, Chinese, written Cantonese, or Romanisation (Pinyin, Jyutping, or Yale).

In the LEP, students will be divided into small learning groups according to their language learning preferences (i.e.: English, Putonghua or Cantonese). Every group will contain both international and local students. With guidance of teachers, participants will be involved in activities related to the topics mentioned above. Each student is encouraged to contribute by teaching his or her own language to other members during the process. In turn, he or she may also benefit from receiving teaching of their target language from partners.

Your LEP Participation will be Recorded in Your Student Development Portfolio (SDP)

The SDP is a university-wide system for capturing and presenting students’ participation in the Experiential Learning Activities organized by the University (UELA). Your attendance and participation in the LEP will be reported by the ILC office upon the conclusion of the programme. And your LEP information will be shown in the official report of Experiential Learning Activities (ELA) issued by CUHK upon your graduation. This will certainly tell your future employers or graduate schools something about your personality apart from the academic qualifications!
