Regina Ip (葉劉淑儀) was admitted as an administrative officer by the Government in 1975 after working as an English teacher for a short period. In her almost 30 years of civil service, Regina has worked in various departments including the Trade and Industry Bureau where she promoted innovation and technological development in Hong Kong to overseas trading partners, and advocated a better environment for the free flow of trade and commerce; and the Security Bureau where she promoted the HKSAR passport to other countries. She left the government in 2003 and then furthered her studies at Stanford University in the U.S. Regina is currently both a Legislative Councilor (Hong Kong Island) and a member of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
